Essay Contest for Grades 4-12 – The Black History Month essay contest is open to all Florida students in grades 4 through 12. Three winners will be selected: one elementary student (grades 4-5), one middle-school student (grades 6-8), and one high school student (grades 9-12). Winners will receive a four-year Florida College Plan scholarship provided by the Florida Prepaid College Foundation.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – On Martin Luther King Day, Representative Gwen Graham’s Congressional Office announced its second annual Black History Month Essay Contest.


Governor Rick Scott's Black History Month Essay Contest is open to all Florida students in grades 4–12. Three winners will be selected: one elementary school student (grades 4–5), one middle school student (grades 6–8), and one high school student (grades 9–12). The 9th annual scholarship contest, sponsored by the Treasurer’s Office, is open to all CPS seniors with a grade point average of 2.5 that also have 50 hours of community service.
